Late winter wildlife

It has once again been a very mild winter, which helps wildlife survive easier but also promotes diseases into the overall population. Wildlife damage complaints are starting to pick up as we get closer to spring, skunks are starting to become active, rodents moving throughout the customers home, raccoon breeding season should be starting this week, bats are moving around as the temps fluctuate causing bats to move looking for a more consistent interior temp in the home. Although bats will still be in hibernation we can look for the guano (droppings) left behind from past warmer months to tell if you have a bat problem or not. Any bat that is found in a home this time of year has been there since fall. We give free inspections & service central ny & the surrounding areas. The two bats below were removed during that cold snap followed by warm weather that we just had during these periods of temp fluctuations we can almost always predict a handful of emergency bat calls
