I would like to welcome my newest employee Nick to the team! Nick owns his own business as a part time fishing guide he is NY state licensed & enjoys teaching anglers how to fish the famous salmon river & surrounding tributaries for migrating trout & salmon. With great attention to detail & enthusiasm i know he will fit in great here. He will be training with me until he is ready to run his own route. For anyone wondering my past employee Collin moved back to his hometown after finishing college at esf (environmental science & forestry) we were so glad to have his help & countless customers enjoyed working with him this past season!

It has once again been a very mild winter, which helps wildlife survive easier but also promotes diseases into the overall population. Wildlife damage complaints are starting to pick up as we get closer to spring, skunks are starting to become active, rodents moving throughout the customers home, raccoon breeding season should be starting this week, bats are moving around as the temps fluctuate causing bats to move looking for a more consistent interior temp in the home. Although bats will still be in hibernation we can look for the guano (droppings) left behind from past warmer months to tell if you have a bat problem or not. Any bat that is found in a home this time of year has been there since fall. We give free inspections & service central ny & the surrounding areas. The two bats below were removed during that cold snap followed by warm weather that we just had during these periods of temp fluctuations we can almost always predict a handful of emergency bat calls
Baby season is now here for most animals. Some animals will have only one litter while other species will commonly have multiple litters especially if food & shelter is readily available. What does this mean for us & our customers? More animals that have to be removed as well as more noise, damage caused by them. Trapping & removal methods many times have to be changed up as there habits may be different this time of year. Bats do not have young until late June (most years) so we seal a lot of homes for them in the spring & fall bat removal seasons (mid April to end of May) (mid August to mid October). The temps & birthing season play a huge part in insuring bats do not end up trapped in someone's home
I would like to welcome my newest employee Collin to the team! Collin has went to college for environmental science & forestry at ESF in Syracuse. He is hardworking & has an eye for finding wildlife entry points that most miss. He is currently training with me & will be running his own route after the spring bat season All wildlife is currently in preparation of food & shelter for the coming winter, whether its rodents storing nuts like pictured below or raccoons busting into soffits it means a new problem for homeowners. These animals must be removed asap before they do damage & have young come spring. Some people reading this may be wondering why there finding a bat in there living quarters if there in partial hibernation & no longer leaving the home nightly to get insects & water, these bats are moving around trying to find the perfect temp to fully hibernate if temps warm or drop suddenly we can almost always predict some emergency calls, many of these bats make it all the way down to the basement or an interior wall which makes them mimic the sounds of a mouse in the wall. So whether you just have a question or would like to book a thorough inspection of your home give the Nocturnal Wildlife Control team a call at (315)529-8046 we would be glad to help!
As we get closer to the end of winter breeding season is beginning. This causes serious problems for homeowners & businesses. Male raccoons will ''break'' into attics to attempt to breed the female that took up residence in preparation for her spring young. Skunk spray will begin permeating homes from the female that sprayed in an attempt to keep the males away. Squirrels will begin chewing into vulnerable entry points to make a nest for her litter. Beavers in a month will start to leave the colony they grew up in for two years & begin to travel to a new drainage system, pond or river to start there own colony, this will cause new dams/ lodges to be constructed which will require many trees being cut down to complete. This is a great time to get rid of wildlife & get everything sealed up before new ones move in to have young, call or message us for a free inspection!
